Normal Everyday use

  1. Hold a ring by its shank when putting it on or taking it off. Shank is the part of the ring that encircles the finger.
  2. Avoid wearing jewellery when swimming as chlorine and saltwater can easily damage them
  3. Always wipe Pearls with a soft cloth after each wear to remove oils etc, never immerse them in hot water.
  4. Avoid spraying perfume or hairspray, applying creams or any other liquids directly onto your jewellery.
  5. Avoid wearing your jewellery when using bleach, cleaning products and other chemicals.
  6. Commercial jewellery cleaning products including ultrasonic and steam cleaners should not be used on soft, porous, or organic gems (e.g., pearl, opal, coral, jet etc).

Needed to start

  1. Clean bowl of lukewarm water
  2. Mild washing up liquid (or Jewellery cleaning solution)
  3. Soft toothbrush
  4. Toothpick (be careful not to use too vigorously)
  5. Soft cloth

Clean

  1. Pour the mild washing up liquid into the bowl of luke warm water approximately 1/4 of the lukewarm water to 2 Tablespoons of washing up liquid.
  2. Place the jewellery into bowl and leave for 10-20 minutes
  3. Very gently (so as not to scratch) rub each jewellery item with the soft toothbrush.
  4. Use the toothpick (gently) to get any hard dirt etc out.
  5. Once cleaned wash gently under the tap.
  6. Dry gently with a soft cloth. 

Storage

Ideally all your jewellery items should be stored individually in pouches or Jewellery boxes without touching or rubbing each other.

Handling

All Jewellery can be scratched or chipped accidentally, so be careful, try not to wear them when swimming or doing household chores (see normal everyday use above).
