Vintage Blue John Pendant with Sterling Silver Chain

A beautiful vintage Blue John pendant, featuring a striking natural Blue John set in sterling silver and accompanied by a matching silver chain.

The Blue John displays a wonderful combination of rich violet-purple, deep indigo and creamy white tones, with distinctive sweeping bands and intricate natural patterns running throughout the stone. These contrasting colours create an almost painterly appearance, making this a particularly attractive example of this unusual variety of fluorite, traditionally associated with Derbyshire's Peak District.

The polished oval cabochon is securely bezel-set within a sterling silver mount, finished with a delicate decorative beaded border that frames the gemstone beautifully. A polished silver bail completes the pendant, which is suspended from an 18-inch sterling silver chain.

A lovely piece for anyone who appreciates the natural beauty and individuality of Blue John, with its distinctive colour and pattern making every example unique.
